Santa's Bikers at Galanos House Christmas '19

The images below show the gifts we gave. The card included a separated front and inside of cards created by two of the youngsters of Byfield Junior School. The bottles in the box are shampoo, bath salts, liquid soap and the like, not gin and whisky by the way.

From the pics below you can see that the usual assembly point, The Long Itch Diner, was well patronised before the run to Galanos House. It looked like several were from the North Pole, including a very slim Santa aboard a sexy Triumph. That bike's Grandfather was there too, the old black one, 1939 I think. Speaking of "snow on your boots" the camouflaged beauty isn't a Beemer, its a Ural, from the Urals! As for the little JR in the "chair", apparently he is also a club Member. On the subject of beauties, there's a couple of biker girls dressed for the occasion next to resident George talking to the cowboy, with George's buddy Tom chipping-in (last image below). As you can see, the RBLR is really cosmopolitan with bikes, trikes and scooters all welcome.

The staff and those residents we met made us welcome and plied us with tea and cakes as usual. The presents delivered included all kinds of toiletries together with chocolates and sweetmeats. The staff sort all those before packing Christmas stockings with items appropriate for each resident. On Christmas morning Santa drops in and gives one of those stockings to each tenant.

By April '20 the works on Galanos House should be complete. They have ten new rooms to add to their dementia unit and a brand new café and communal area, which will be open to anyone to visit, hopefully to interact with the residents. We'll make sure we make a trip as a unit but will encourage our Members to drop-in when passing.
