Remembrance in Bromyard

Remembrance 2023

Remembrance Sunday (Sunday 12th November 2023)

Remembrance Sunday was marked in Bromyard by a well attended and dignified service in St. Peter’s Church. During the course of this, as is customary, the names of the fallen from Bromyard were read out, the two minute silence was observed and wreaths were laid at the memorials dedicated to those who fell in the Boer War, the two World Wars and later conflicts. The Branch is indebted to the St. Peter's flower arranging team who decorated the church so beautifully for the occasion.

Armistice Day (Saturday 11th November 2023)

Armistice Day was commemorated in Bromyard with short ceremonies at the memorials outside the Halo Bromyard Centre and in the Korean Garden (Town Green). In attendance were the Mayor Councillor Dr. Dee Dunne-Thomas, County Councillors Clare Davies and Peter Stoddart, Reverend Philip Miller (St. Peter’s Church), Chairman and members of Bromyard Branch of the Royal British Legion and members of the public. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Town Council, Herefordshire Council, the Royal British Legion, St. Joseph's Church, Bromyard Chamber of Commerce, Queen Elizabeth High School, Bromyard Lions, Bromyard Scouts. As custodians of Remembrance, the Branch would like to thank all who attended to honour the fallen.
