2021 Bodmin Clock War Memorial

This turret clock in Bodmin is actually a War Memorial in it’s own right.
Built after The Great War by St Lawrence’s hospital a plaque at the front commemorates the staff from the hospital who were killed. Sadly more names were added after World War 2.
At the Bodmin Branch we began to lay wreaths there early in the morning on Remembrance Sunday.
Joined by the congregation of nearby St Lawrence’s church this short but dignified ceremony has become a regular feature again after many years absence.

A road sign was put up many years ago in front of the plaque making wreath laying awkward and partially obscuring the plaque itself.

The Bodmin Branch would all like to offer our thanks to Cllr Jeremy Cooper The Mayor of Bodmin
and to Town Cllr Mike Barberry who have been instrumental in having the road sign re-located. The plaque and inscriptions are now clearly visible.

The Bodmin Clock War Memorial can be found at the road junction of Westheath Avenue, Dunmere Road, St. Leonards and Barn Lane.
