RBL Blyth Remembrance Events and Activities
The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of UK's Remembrance Service.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally used to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom that we enjoy today.
- Blyth Branch always take part in The Field of Remembrance at Saltwell Park, and attended the town Remembrance services at The Submariner's Memorial, Ridley Park, Cowpen and Newsham Cenotaph.
- Each year, fixtures permitting, we provide a moment of remembrance prior to kick off at Blyth Spartans AFC.
- Since 2018 our Poppy Makers Group have created a fabulous remembrance display in the town centre, incorporating poppies and other related items and memorabilia donated or loaned from community groups and schools. We are incredibly grateful for their support for the RBL and Poppy Appeal.
The Poppy Makers meet on a Tuesday Evening in the Isabella Community Centre 7-9pm. More information is available from their Facebook Group Blyth Poppy Makers Group
