Poppy Window Display

One of the great things at 'Poppy Season' in Blandford are the shop displays with the different memorial scene. Every year, the Branch invites the local shops to join in with the displays. The most impressive displays earn a visit from the standard bearers of the Branch and the mayor with a certificate.

There’s a new generation of veterans that need your support.

For many people, Remembrance is associated with the fallen of the First and Second World Wars. While we will always remember them, the Legion wants to raise awareness of a new generation of veterans and Service personnel that need our support.

Following the success of the last two years, the window display competition for the Poppy Appeal will again take place. We hope that as many shops in Blandford will join in and have a display in there shop window and show their support.

Even small amounts raised, when added together, can make a huge difference to the lives of veterans.

The competition will be judged by the Mayor of Blandford (or a representative) over the Remembrance weekend in November, with presentations of certificates made to First, Second, and Third places on Tuesday 11^th November at the winning venues!
