Axminster Branch RBL

A Small but Mighty Branch in East Devon

The Branch was first established in 1921 and has seen its membership continue ever since.

The Branch is small but punchy, with over 40 subscribed Branch Members and other volunteers ensuring the Branch has a place in the local community.  The Branch does not have a Club House, or a fixed abode, so we regularly met in the Church Rooms for our Branch Meetings as well as visiting some of the local Coffee Shops and Public Houses.

The Membership is a colourful one, with Members having served in the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force,  Royal Navy Reserve, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, British Police Force as well as a number of non Service personnel.

We receive great support from the local community, such as retail businesses that host us and offer discounts to our members, pitches in shopping centers for the Poppy Appeal, huge support and turnout for the Remembrance Day Service & Parade and a general will-do attitude when we ask for support.

Little old Axminster does well, and the Branch thrives in the community and as a result won the County RBL Award of the Crediton Cup & the National RBL Award of the Lister Trophy.

The Branch are always welcoming new members (you don't have to of served in the Military to be a member), so have a look on the website and get in touch if you would like to get involved.
