The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
On Sunday 13th November 2022, a large number of people present at the Remembrance Service and laying of wreaths at the War Memorial, Ashwell following the service held in Ashwell URC at 10am.
It was estimated that over 150 people attended the War Memorial service. Including our Village Uniformed Organisations and the Parish Church Choir.
The names of the fallen were read and wreaths were laid and The Silence observed.
The Act of Remembrance was also held in Hinxworth at 11am.
