Centenary Commemoration Parade To mark the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of The Somme Friday 1st July 2016
On the evening of the 1st July there was a parade from the RBL to the Cenotaph where a Religious Service and Act of Remembrance Service was held. The main Protestant Churches and the Roman Catholic Church all participated. A Roll of Honour of the Fallen from the area was read out and Poppy Crosses were placed for each of the 66 names read out.
A bench dedicated to the fallen of the Somme was unveiled by Lord Caledon and dedicated by the Dean of Armagh Gregory Dunstan. The bench has been placed beside the Irish Yew tree dedicated to the 36th (Ulster) Division
