We are saddened to inform you of the passing of one of our members, Betty Curran passed away after fighting a long illness on the 8th February 2022. Betty will always be remembered for her happy smile and cheerful nature.

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that John Wingate passed away on 9th December 2021. John passed away in hospital after a long illness. Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife Maureen.

Mr Michael Rushbrook 26 April 1946 - 16 January 2021
Rest in Peace - Mr Michael Rushbrook - President of The Alicante Branch of The Royal British Legion
It is with a heavy heart that it is my sad duty to inform you that Mr Michael Rushbrook passed away yesterday afternoon (Saturday 16th January 2021) after fighting the Covid Virus for the last two months. You will all be aware of the dedication and commitment Michael gave to the Branch and the wider Legion, Michael held every single Committee Position within the Alicante Branch, on occasions more than one at a time, it was his perseverance with Judith by his side that kept the Alicante Branch of The Royal British Legion together when it could have so easily closed.
Our thoughts and prayers now turn to Judith and the family at this very difficult time. Please wait to receive further information, as soon as we aware of the service arrangements we will inform you of Judith's wishes.
The service held at Tanatorio Moya in Ibi, Alicante, Spain. Monday 31st August 2020.
The service concentrated on the positive impact David had on Chris, David’s devoted wife, and the enormous impact David had on his family and friends.
The tributes today were lead by his close friend Ed Morris, who along with Susan have supported Chris over the last few difficult months. The messages read out today by Ed from Families and Friends highlighted how special David was and how he had touched so many people throughout his life.
David you are not only in Chris’s heart but also those of your dear friends, and your fellow Royal British Legion Members. RIP David, GBNF.
