The Ynysybwl branch was first established on the 15th of June, 1922. This was followed by the

unveiling of the Ynysybwl War Memorial, on the 14th September 1922, by Lt Col E.T. Rees D.S.O. The

formal handing over of the memorial to the local authority was performed by Dr. W.W. David on that

same day.
