LYDIARD PARK FIELD OF REMEMBRANCE 2014
Field of Remembrance 7th November 2014
The Field of Remembrance pays tribute to all the brave Service men and women who lost their lives in Afghanistan in the service of their country.
The Field of Remembrance was organised and set up by the Royal British Legion Head Office. The Opening Ceremony took place in the walled garden at 11.00am on Friday 7th November and the Field of Remembrance will remain open to the public until Sunday 14th November 2014 when unfortunately, it will have to be closed.
The event which was well attended, followed the same format as in previous years starting with a welcome to everyone before observing the Two Minutes silence. The weather, though overcast, was fairly good during the Opening Cermeony and the rain only came after the Service was over.
Afterwards people were invited to partake in Tea & Biscuits in the Conference Room, which was very welcome.
Run2Remember - Saturday 8th November 2014
The Run2Remember was held on the following day, and was once again well supported. It appears to be a favourable event with many runners of various ages taking part, dressed is a variety of costumes. A great way to raise money for a very worthy cause! Thank you for your valued support.
