23rd July 17 - Party in the Park

The Party in the Park was held once again in the Belle Vue Park in Sudbury.

Members were on hand throughout the day to help sell our ever popular poppy items and to inform visitors of the great work done by the RBL.

The standards were impecibly displayed by Frank & Colin during the retreat (sunset).

The weather was typically British with both sunshine and showers, though this didn't dampen the spirits of attendees or our members.

Well done to Lauren who kindly painted a picture and donated it to the stall.

The Legion in the Community

Wells Hall School, Gt Cornard held a Street Party at the school on Tuesday 23rd May with 6 members in attendance.

The year 6 students are studying WW11 and Len went along the week before to tell them his story.

Trish played her bagpipes. The children had had a competition for the best cake which was judged by Len and Stuart, so the tea was nice. Before tea started we sat and talked to Teachers and children and parents went into separate groups to teach the parents the War time games and they played games for a while.

We were given a very warm welcome and Stuart has agreed we shall visit Wells Hall before Remembrance as we do other Schools and 2 Care Homes.
