Standish

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

View our News & Events calendar for details of local Remembrance events.

Standish Remembrance Parade takes place on Sunday 13th November 2016.

Our Parade forms up at 10.15am on Cross Street Standish and marches off at approximately 10.30am. We will turn left onto Market Street and left onto High Street and march down to the memorial gardens at the junction of Church Street and High Street. We will gather around the Cenotaph to carry out our act of Remembrance.

On completion of our act of Remembrance, we will then form up and march to St. Wilfrid's Church for a Church Service of Remembrance led by Rector Andrew Holliday.

Once The Remembrance service is over we will then gather in The Unity Club, Cross Street for a curry lunch and refreshments.

All are welcome to join both acts of Remembrance.
