Who are we?
Stamford Branch is one of 61 Legion branches in Lincolnshire, an active county with over 4000 members. The Branch was formed on 7 June 1922 and is looking forward to its 100th anniversary in 2022.

Its members include ex-Service personnel, currently serving personnel and people who have never served in HM Armed Forces.
The Branch organises the town Poppy Appeal which exceeded £34,000 in 2000. It plays a prominent role in the town's civic affairs - leading or taking part in the Remembrance commemorations, the Mayor's Parade & Service, the Wings Appeal and Battle of Britain Parade, and takes part in local re-enactment and period shows.
Members visit local care home residents and lead, with the help of other groups, in caring for the town War Memorial. They were also very active in sending parcels to the troops in Afghanistan.
The Branch has close relations with other ex-Service organisations, has affiliated with Stamford's ACF and ATC cadet groups in helping them in their Youth in the Community programmes, and is forging close links with local schools.
The Branch meets regularly on the third Monday of every month at 8.00pm sharp at Stamford Blackstones Social Club. There, we run a vigorous programme of social events, including quizzes, talks, an annual Poppy Appeal Party, Branch Christmas Dinner, and a St George’s Day Sausage & Mash lunch, and music and other activities.

Our Branch Officers, members of the committee and volunteers make the Branch what it is. Without them, we would not be able to continue to provide support to the Serving and ex-Serving community.
In this section, you can find out more about the people that help keep our Branch running, where they've come from and why they continue to support The Royal British Legion.
