Pershore & District

Welcome to the Pershore & District Branch of The Royal British Legion

About The Royal British Legion

We provide financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces, past and present, and their families. The Legion is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem the red poppy.

The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading Armed Forces charity and one of its largest membership organisations. Members get together through the network of branches and clubs all over the country and overseas to participate in social, fundraising and welfare activities.

About The Pershore and District Branch of the Royal British Legion

The Pershore and District Branch was founded in 1922 and currently has over 80 members.  The Branch raises thousands of pounds locally, each year, through the Poppy Appeal for the benefit and welfare of the Armed Forces Community. The Branch has a range of social events for it's members.

We have a casual get together over a drink (not necessarily an alcoholic drink!) on the first Wednesday evening of each month at the Pershore Sports Club, Defford Road, from 19.30hrs onwards.

A Branch Breakfast Club is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at The White Horse, Church Row, Pershore.  Starting at 09.00 hrs - just a full English and a chat.

The Branch takes a leading part in the Remembrance Parade through the town on Remembrance Sunday each year.  All Branch members are welcome to take part.  Remembrance Page

The Annual Dinner is held locally, with presentations to the local Cadet Forces and a forces-related guest speaker.

Each year, the Branch has a weekend away, staying for at least one night in a hotel, visiting an area or site of military significance.

Branch Committee members meets at 19.30 hrs on the last Thursday of the month at the The Angel Inn & Posting House, High Street in Pershore.

FULL DETAILS AND DATES OF THE UP-COMING SOCIAL EVENTS CAN BE FOUND ON THE NEWS AND EVENTS PAGE OF THIS WEB SITE - News and Events Page

Legion membership ensures that

  • Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave Service men and women have made are never forgotten.
  • The ex-Service community have a voice and that their concerns are brought to the public eye.

Becoming a member also provides the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities and events held locally, regionally and nationally throughout the year.
