Appeal for information on names for our Post-1945 Roll of Honour

This  project was  to compile a roll of honour and research the names of those who were born or lived in the County and have been killed in action, by terrorism or on duty since the end of World War Two.

Below is listed the 140 names on this roll of honour that we have identified with strong connections to the county, and are recorded on the official Armed Forces Memorial in Staffordshire (http://www.thenma.org.uk/about-us/armed-forces-memorial/the-names/)

For each of the names we have/are also writing a "biography tribute", and would welcome information including photos to help us with this part of the project.  We are grateful to the families, friends and ex-comrades for their help and assistance in providing us with information to write the biographies.

2013 saw the addition of 39 names to a brand new memorial plaque at the Northampton Borough War Memorial in Abington Square.

These are people who were born, lived in or have parental connections to the town and have been lost in service since 1945.

The borough council provided wonderful support and a formal unveiling took place on Sunday 23rd June (see Post-1945 Northampton Borough page on this site for more information).

In November 2012 we were delighted Northampton Borough Council provided the funds and expertise to design, sculpt and engrave a new Northamptonshire Korean War Memorial.  The memorial is has been resited to be within the borough war memorial where the roof and fencing will protect it from the elements.  We were able to provide guidance on this project including the  of one name that we have found to be missing.

In Summer 2012 we were able to help East Haddon Parish Council add Colin Dixon's name to their memorial.

2011 we were pleased that our research has led to the addition of one name to the national Armed Forces Memorial that had been missed in error, and that we have helped other organisations - and indeed many families - with details.

We do not believe our list is exhaustive and therefore, if you are able to help us in identifying other names or provide details of those listed below then please contact us at guy.voice@bt.com

At the going down of the Sun and in the morning we will remember them
