New Milton & District

The New Milton Branch was first established in 1928 and, over the years, extended to include a Ladies group and brass band.  These activities closed in the war years and the branch itself lost support. At some time (date unknown) a designated Legion Hall was built which burnt down in 1975 to be quickly replaced by New Milton Memorial Centre, where our meetings are held.  The main “Memorial Hall” is a much-envied venue, accommodating over 200 people and is a favoured for dances, plays and large-scale local events.  That and smaller rooms are available for hire.  The Centre does incorporate a small Legion anteroom for quiet contemplation, displaying photographs and other memorabilia, the walls covered in “bricks” donated by local residents in memory of military personnel.
