Campaign to safeguard the future of the War Memorial at the Cottage hospital.

The hospital faced closure so we secured influential support to our campaign and eventually received NHS assurance that the unique memorial would be preserved.

Including the creation of a Garden of Remembrance (repeated each year since), presentation of Books of Remembrance to the town, an exhibition in the Museum, a concert by the Harborough Band, the Remembrance Day Parade and Service and daily Sun-set Ceremonies.

We assisted in organising the Council Civic Reception for Robert Cramp and family. Many members attended but ill health prevented Robert doing so but the Lord Lieutenant later made the presentation at his home. |

Followed personal informal contact. The formal link was unique in RBL. A member of the AL Post visited for a Twinning Ceremony after the New Standard Parade. more

It is in memory "of all those who gave their lives in the fight for freedom over the years". Sponsorship had been secured for its purchase.
