Below is a list of dates for your diary on what's happening in the Mansfield Branch of The Royal British Legion.

BRANCH MEETINGS ARE HELD AT THE GAS BOARD SOCIAL CLUB, RATCLIFFE GATE, MANSFIELD ON THE 1ST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH COMMENCING AT 7.30PM.

Next Meeting: Wednesday 1st July 2015.

New members are always welcome. You do not have to have served in the armed forces but simply support the aims of the Royal British Legion which are to support the serving and ex-service community wherever they can.

Saturday 4th July 2015: Mansfield Armed Forces Day. Market Place 11am-3pm. The national Armed Forces Day is 27th June but as most big events will take place in Nottingham on that day it was thought best to celebrate our Armed Forces the following week. See local press for details when they are finalised.

Sunday 5th July 2015: The laying up of the standard of the Notts and Derbys branch of the RAF Regiment Association. St Peters Church Mansfield during Evensong which commences at 6.30pm. All welcome.

Saturday 11th July 2015: Headstone cleaning of Military casualties graves or commemorations. Assemble at the main car park at 11am. All you need bring is a bucket and soft brush. Al are welcome.

Sarurday 15th August 2015: VJ Day. Wreath laying ceremony at the old Town Memorial on Carr Bank Park. 12 noon.

Friday 16th October 2015: The Mansfield District Poppy Appeal social evening. Clipstone and Forest Town branch event but several other branches are supporting the event with standards. The venue is the Forest Town Arena and admission is free. The venue opens at 7pm with the event starting at 7.30pm

Sunday 25th October 2015: Mansfield & Mansfield Bellamy Festival of Remembrance at the Palace Theatre, Leeming Street, Mansfield. Commencing at 2pm. Tickets available from the box office from the beginning of September.

Sunday 8th November 2015: Remembrance Sunday Parade. 9th November 2014. Wreath laying at the rear of the Civic Centre, Mansfield. Commencing at 10am then march to St Peter's church and return after church service. 

Wednesday 11th November 2015. Armistice Day. There will be a 2 minute silence in the Four Seasons centre and also on Carr Bank Park.
