 UPCOMING EVENTS

Tuesday 31st May 2016: Battle of Jutland centenary commemoration. St Lawrences Church, Skerry Hill, Mansfield. Service starts at 7pm but the format is as per H.M Ships so there will be a warning ‘pipe’ 3 or 4 minutes prior. 8 Mansfield men died at Jutland and 4 of them are commemorated on St Lawrence’s War Memorial so the venue is very apt.

Sunday 5th June 2016: Annual rededication at Southwell Minster.  A wreath laying ceremony, lead by the Lord Lieutenant, Sir John Peace, and the County Chairman will take place at The Burbage, Southwell. Timings are:

1730  -  Muster at the Burbage

1800  -  Wreath laying ceremony

1815  -  Parade steps off

1830  -  Minster service starts

Sunday 26th June 2016: Armed Forces Day. The branch will have a stall on the Market Place from 10am to 3pm. Please feel free to come and say hello.

Friday 28th October 2016: Poppy Appeal social evening, fund raiser and Clipstone & Forest Town branch launch. Same lines as last year’s great night. Female vocalist Emma James, disco and raffle. FREE admission.

Sunday 30th October 2016: Mansfield and Mansfield Bellamy Festival of Remembrance. Palace Theatre, Leeming Street. Featuring the Mansfield Male Voice Choir, Nottingham Ukulele Club, Blidworth Welfare Band and hopefully a cadet unit. Tickets will be available from the box office in September. I believe the price is being held at £5.50.

Friday 11th November 2016: 2 minutes silence ceremonies will be held in The Four Seasons Centre and also at Carr Bank Park.
