Injured Troops Jobs 'At Risk', Memo Suggests

Troops wounded in Afghanistan or Iraq could be among thousands of soldiers facing the axe as military personnel numbers are cut further, according to a leaked memo.

Injured personnel were exempt from the first round of job losses earlier this year, but the memo seen by the Daily Telegraph reportedly suggests as many as 2,500 wounded soldiers, 350 of them who have lost a limb, could be made redundant as 16,500 personnel are axed by April 2015.

Reduced by 7,000 soldiers by 2015, while the RAF would lose about 5,000 personnel.

Exmoor 30:30

17 September 2011

Exmoor 3030 leafletExmoor 30|30 is an annual endurance event that has raised money for Armed Services charities over the past 2 years. This year, and from now on, this event is exclusively supporting The Royal British Legion.

If you are physically fit and like the idea of pitting yourself against the great outdoors whilst carrying 30lbs over either 30 miles or 30km of Exmoor, then we want to hear from you.

You will need to enter a team of competitors (minimum of 5 people) all whom will need to be able to navigate in poor visibility across rough ground.

Each team member should raise at least £500 for The Royal British Legion. The entry fee is £50 per person. The event is limited to 40 teams and is on a first come first served basis.

When: Saturday 17 September 2011 (all teams must register at race control by 10pm the previous night)

Where: Starts and finishes at the Memorial Hall, Exford, Somerset TA24 7PP
