The Royal British Legion's Mill Club in Kingsbridge evolved from the local branch's previous premises in a shed and a property on Fore Street. The branch purchased the old flour mill on Mill Street around 1971 and re-developed it, retaining the upper floor for the new club, while the lower levels were converted into shops, a garage, and storage.
- Original Branch: The Kingsbridge Branch was established in 1921, with its first location being a shed in Baptist Lane.
- Move to Fore Street: Around 1971, the branch moved to new premises off Fore Street, which included a bar and became a popular venue.
- Acquisition of the Mill: The committee then bought the old flour mill on Mill Street.
- Redevelopment: The mill was re-developed to create a new club space on the upper floor, while the lower levels were used for three shops, a garage, and storage.
- Expansion: The branch later purchased a cottage for its then Bar Steward, which is still owned by the branch but is now let to a tenant.
- Rebranding: In 2011, the club was rebranded as the RBL The Mill Club.
To become a member of The Mill Club in Kingsbridge, you must pay both the
Royal British Legion (RBL) fee and the Club Membership fee. You can join by paying the annual fees, which are currently £23 for RBL membership and £10 for Club Membership.
