Branch At Battle Of Britain Commemoration

Members of the Kingsbridge Royal British Legion Branch marked the anniversary of the 'Battle of Britain by laying a wreath at the Town war Memorial

 

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Wreaths from very many local groups were laid

Special thanks  to Peter Trembath and his team from 'Fair week' who have organised traffic and sound syatem .

Later that evening the 'Lights Out' event was held within the RBL Mill Club. 80+ people heard poetry read by the Chairman John Peacock and prayers were said by the Rev Jackie Taylor. Candle's were lit and the Exhortation read by our President Ken Court.

Jutland 2

Members of the Kingsbridge Royal British Legion Branch held a commemorative service at the War Memorial for all who lost their lives at the Battle of Jutland. The service was conducted by our Chaplain Rev Jackie Taylor.

The Branch Chairman, Leon Lock and Committee members of the Kingsbridge Branch joined Civic leaders, veterans and members of the public to commemorate The Falklands War.
