This edition of the handbook primarily focuses on improving accessibility by restructuring the handbook. A full content review will take place for the September 2025 revision.
We hope this revision makes the handbook easier to use for everyone.

The McCrae Shield (National Award).
The McCrae Shield which is awarded to one of the 87 Overseas Branches that during the year has demonstrated and achieved the most progress and has also increased its Branch membership, and is of a high standard of efficiency as determined by The Royal British Legion Membership TRBL Council. Presented in September 2020.
This award is presented to an overseas Branch which has:
- demonstrated compliance
- supported its members and beneficiaries, and
- promoted the RBL within its district or the wider community.
This year, Javea Branch came 3rd in the McCrae Shield.
The Downing Shield.
This award is presented to an individual member who has played an important role in the delivery of Branch Community Support, helping to greatly improve the Legions support provided to our Beneficiaries.
This year, it was presented to our own Debbie Brettle -Congratulations!!!!!

Member Discounts
GREAT NEWS for fully paid up members is that ONE more business across the Marina Alta has joined the partnership initiative with RBL Javea. This brings the total so far to Thirteen businesses supporting RBL Javea by offering discounts to our branch members.
In August 2023 we launched a partnership initiative across the Marina Alta with businesses offering discounts to RBL members. Remember to access any discounts offered your current RBL Membership Card will need to be shown.
