Poppy Appeal

The Poppy Appeal in Hayfield

The Hayfield branch are going from strength to strength and we estimate that this years total should be in excess of  £21.000.00....... at present we stand at £19,800.00 but we have till end of September 2019 to reach our target.

This years Poppy Appeal 2018/19 got off to a great start with the launch in New Mills by High Peaks Mayor, Cllr Linda Grooby selling the first lot of poppys raising £270.00 on a very cold, wet & windy day

We followed on with our annual concert at The Arts Theatre New Mills on the 3rd November. This year we had the Kinder Childrens Choir, Take Part in the Art Theatre Groupd and New Mills Band  providing a great night of music, song & entertainment. This brought us in an amazing £1,800 plus for the Poppy Appeal.

The Pride of the Peaks Pub New Mills kindly hosted a quiz night organised by the Love New Mills team and raised over £190.

We also raised over £600 from our own Silent Soldiers and lamppost poppy's which again all went to the branch target.

This year the Wincle Brewery raised over £430.00 from our bottled beer and will eb ongoing throughout  the year. So all in all a great start for this years appeal.

Finally, a big thankyou to everyone including all the shops, pubs and bussiness who allow us to leave a collecting box and the people who kindly donate every year.
