Haughley

We were met with gorgous sunshine on the morning of remembrance Sunday following down pours the following evening.

St Mary's Haughley was once again full to capacity with members of the public standing. The parade was led with a piper from the Post Office followed by the Royal British Legion, Wetherden and Haughley Scout group and Haughley Utd U7's with members of the general public.

During the service with David Swales led a poppy was received at the alter for every fallen soldier during world wars 1 and 2  and then a candle also extinguished  for each soldier by the  youth in the congregation. 250 people plus is an amazing feat for a small village. Lunch at the Cedars Hotel was then enjoyed by Legion members , with time  to reflect on fallen comrades
and enjoy each others company. In total 12 wreath's were laid on behalf of local organisations at the War memorial after the service.
