Harleston's War Memorial - Virtual Cemetery

This virtual cemetery has been created to commemorate the brave men immortalized on the Town's War Memorial.

Information has been supplied with the kind permission of Ruth Walton, author of the book 'We Will Remember' The lives of the Harleston men who fought and died in two world wars.  The book is available to purchase (£5.00) from Robinson's Traditional Stationers, Redenhall with Harleston Town Council or Terry Pegg (Vice Chairman of Harleston & District Branch of The Royal British Legion).

The virtual cemetery shows an A to Z list of the names immortalized on the Town's War Memorial.  Behind each name is a short biography of their lives, with details of where they were born, a brief life history and details of their death.  This includes details of where they are buried (if known) and other memorials they are commemorated on.  The site also gives you the opportunity to leave a virtual flower and leave a note to accompany the flower.  Listed with each name there is also a Commonwealth War Graves Commission Commemorative Certificate.
