Below is a list of dates for your diary on what's happening in the Hardwicke & District Branch of The Royal British Legion.

Following a successful 2015, Hardwicke and District Branch of The Royal British Legion (TRBL) are proposing and arranging a number of functions throughout 2016

 The aim of our functions is as follows

  • To promote the work of The Royal British Legion.
  • To promote and encourage comradeship between all ages.
  • To raise funds for the Poppy Appeal through both traditional, as well as  exciting, challenging and fun ways for all ages.

Currently The Branch calendar is as below. This will be amended as functions develop.


The Branch Meet the Second Wednesday of Every Month 7:30pm @ The Royal British Legion Club, Green Lane, Hardwicke, Gloucester, GL2 4QA - Come Along, You'll be Welcome! 


Monthly Branch Meeting 

Wednesday 9th November 2016

All members are reminded that the November Branch meeting will be held at 7:30pm on Wednesday 9th November 2016 at The RBL Club, Green Lane, Hardwicke. This will be your opportunity to update your club membership, have a pint and get an update on this months Poppy Appeal, Armistice and Remembrance commemorations. new members welcome. 

Armistice Day Friday 11th November 2016 

Armistice Day will be observed this year at Tesco Extra, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4PF. The Last Post will sound at 11:00am and the store will observe the traditional two minute silence. Particiapents are requested to be in place at the front of the store by 10:45am

Remembrance Parade & Service - Sunday 13th November 2016

the branch remembrance Service will this year be held at St James Church, Quedgeley, Gloucester, GL2 4PN. This year's service will be conducted by Fr John Ward. The national silence will be observed in the church then we will regroup at the war memorial where the names of the fallen from our five parishes will be read out and wreaths laid.  

Ypres 100km 2017

Branch members will be joining Lydbrook, Thornbury & Ypres  in taking part in the Ypres (Ieper) 100km three day event in Belgium. The 2017 event will take place ovet the long weekend of Friday 26th May2017 -Sunday 28th May 2017. It is not necessary to complete 100km as this is the maximum over three days. There are various distanmces per day ranging from 6km to 50km.
