The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

The Branch holds an annual Remembrance service which leaves the Legion clubhouse at 10.40 a.m. led by a Bagpiper. The service commences at 11.00 a.m. at the village War Memorial in Common Road and is conducted by Rev Chris Bull. Wreaths are laid by various dignitaries and small wooden crosses are available for anyone wishing to make a personal dedication.
