The Poppy Appeal in Eastcote
Message From Mary Sewell, Eastcote Royal British Legion Branch Vice Chairman & Poppy Appeal Organiser
Eastcote Poppy Appeal 2019/2020
We have been advised by Poppy Appeal Headquarters that Eastcote Branch raised £29,697-22 for the 2019/2020 Poppy Appeal Year ending 30th September 2020. This is a magnificent achievement by members and supporters considering that we were unable to stage any fundraising events during the second half of the 2019/2020 Poppy Appeal Year due to national lockdown and ongoing/changing Covid restrictions.
Eastcote Poppy Appeal 2020/2021
As at 16th April 2021, we have banked £12,709.55 for the Eastcote RBL Poppy Appeal 2020/2021 which started on 1st October 2020. We still have several more collecting cans to collect and pledged donations to be received during the next few weeks.
This is truly an amazing total to have been raised during these difficult times. We had no face-to-face collecting by Eastcote Royal British Legion Branch volunteers this year in our local supermarkets to ensure that they were not put at Covid risk.
If you want to help us to try and reach £15,000, please will you consider making a one-off donation via our GoFundMe Page using the following safe link:
The minimum donation that can be given via this site is £5-00. In the Tip box select Other; set the value to £0. If you are a UK Tax Payer you can increase the value of your donation by 25% by ticking the Gift Aid box.
The Poppy Appeal, like many other national charities, has seen a massive reduction in donations this year. Income received during this year’s Poppy Fortnight will help but is considerably less than in previous years. Demand for assistance from our beneficiaries has not reduced, in some areas, it has increased.
