Poppy People

Copythorne Branch is fortunate in having a hard working and dedicated group of Poppy collectors.

If you would like to help boost the Royal British Legions Poppy Appeal Fund we would be delighted to welcome you to our merry band.

There are no restrictions: you do not have to be a Royal British Legion member, need no special training and can give as much time, or as little, as you can spare.

We are deeply indebted to Morrison's at Calmore and Paulton's Park in Ower who allow us to sell poppies on their premises each year.

The help provided by 9 Troop Army Cadet Force from Totton is also really appreciated.  Each weekend during the Poppy fortnight teams of Cadets volunteer their time and not only sell Poppies at the superstore, but pack shopping bags at the tills.  Their contribution really helps to boost our Poppy Appeal total.

Those representing us at these venues generally volunteer for a three hour session (or more if you feel able to give more time).

Our Poppy Co-ordinators encourage people to work in pairs. This year the morning 'shift' took place between 10.00am and 1.00pm and the afternoon session followed between 1.00pm and 4.00pm.

Those preferring to collect door-to-door also play a very important part in the annual Poppy Appeal collection.
