Remembrance Events and Commemorative Parades in Cheltenham

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the National Custodian of Remembrance and as such organises many remembrance parades and services throughout the country.

ANNUAL PARADES 

We commemorate annual events of significance and relevant anniversaries. With kind permission of and support from Cheltenham Borough Council these are generally held at the War Memorial in the Promenade, at the Town Centre.

For 2023

- VE Day Monday 8 May at 1150 at the War Memorial, Promenade

- D Day Tuesday 6 June at 1150 at the War Memorial, Promenade

- VJ Day Tuesday 15 August at 1150 at the War Memorial, Promenade

 

REMEMBRANCE EVENTS Please support our Remembrance events for 2023 coming up:

Field of Remembrance:  Dedication at Long Garden War Memorial, The Promenade: Thursday 2nd November at 11:45. Crosses will be laid and stay there until Thursday 16 November. 

Armistice Day Pause for Reflection and Silence:  War Memorial, The Promenade:  Saturday 11th November at 10:50.

Remembrance Sunday Parade:  The Parade will be on Sunday 12th November, forming up from 10:30 onwards.  Those that are able – please join the Veterans contingent.
