Byfield & District Branch

Byfield and District RBL Branch in rural SW Northants. INFORMATION & CONTACTS for BR0205 (that's us)

Remember ALL are welcome in the RBL - you don't have to be ex-service to be part of this organisation, and both men and women are Members of the Byfield RBL - and there are no age limits after you've reached 12.

We had a meeting every month, we usually met in Byfield Village Hall's Meeting Room (that used to be called the Lower Annexe) NN11 6UT at 8 p.m. unless that Monday is a Bank Holiday, then that meeting automatically shifts, either to the day after or the second Monday (see NOTICES). As we have a geographical area to cater for we acknowledge the need to "put it about a bit", so on occasion we meet elsewhere in our District - see our Meetings' Minutes & Notices pages of this Web site for dates and venues.

We usually assembled in a local hostelry about half an hour prior to our Branch Meeting, and often repaired there afterwards. And, we often had "social gatherings", usually lunchtime in a pub somewhere inside our District - again, see Notices.

Meetings where no speaker was scheduled usually lasted a little under an hour; when we were favoured with a speaker that could add 45 minutes to our sessions.

Byfield District then extended from Catesby in the north to Moreton Pinkney in the south, The Boddingtons to the west and Preston Capes and Woodford Halse in the east. Web links to various villages in our District can be found on our History page.

Drawing a direct line between Catesby, The Boddingtons, Culworth and Little Preston, you'll see our District is a rough diamond (shape).
