On Saturday November 11th, Armistice Day, the Branch President, Stephen Goddard, laid a wreath at the War Memorial Lych Gate at St. John’s Church and at the War Memorial at St. Stephen’s Church
On Sunday November 12th National Remembrance Sunday the President laid a wreath at the War Memorial at Pelly House
On February 22nd this year Stephen Goddard laid a wreath against the wall of a designated place in St. John’s churchyard to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the execution in Berlin, by the Gestapo, of Sophie Scholl, a member of the ‘White Rose’ organisation, a secret circle of non-violent university students who spread leaflets in Munich criticising the Nazis.

In the local museum and it was an honour for the Members of the Royal British Liegion members of Buckhurst Hill to meet HRH Prince Michael of Kent
French mayor of Bray Dunes and France 40 presented a Lee Enfield Rifle 303 in a case with a plaque to the Royal British Legion Branch of Buckhurst Hill as a gift to remember the events and to build a closer link with the community.This was dug up from the beach at Dunkirk and is now on display by the memorial at Pelly House
