CEREMONY AT CARENTEC: A ceremony was held at Carentec on Saturday 31st October in honour for George Wood who was a pilot in the 2nd World War. His plane crashed near Carentec on 30th October 1943 and escaped back to UK with the help of the French people from the area. He was presented with the highest award in France The Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur. Our deputy Standard Bearer Bernard Norcross carried our branch Standard and our Chairman Rodney Curtis carried the Union Flag as George Wood had asked for it to be there for the presentation. Our branch had 5 members at the ceremony.
