Flag Raised to Mark Launch of Armed Forces Week

To mark the start of Armed Forces Week, the Official Flag was raised at the Splash Pool, Castle Park, Bishop's Stortford on Monday 22nd June 2026 at 11am.

The Bishop’s Stortford Branch

The Bishop’s Stortford Branch has a long history, celebrating its 100th anniversary in April 2022.

Today, the branch remains dedicated to passing on the message of Remembrance through the annual Bishop’s Stortford Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Service and Parade. We also promote the Royal British Legion and its work by attending local and national events, as well as visiting local schools and youth organisations.

Branch Membership

Our branch members play a vital role in ensuring that the Bishop’s Stortford Branch can continue its work for years to come. Members are very important to us and we very much appreciate their support.

Legion membership ensures that:

• Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave Service men and women have made are never forgotten.
• The ex-Service community have a voice and that their concerns are brought to the public eye.

You can become a RBL Bishop’s Stortford Branch Member for an annual fee of £24 paid by joining online, Direct Debit or cheque.

Membership is open to everyone - you don’t have to be part of the Armed Forces Community.
